Project management Tools Software Review

I’m sure that you know how important good project management is. Failure to do so causes stress on the work floor, missed deadlines and unhappy customers. A lot of tool are available on the market that can assist you with managing the project successfully.

Three of the mayor players in this market are “Business Spreadsheets”, “Devista” and “Project Budget Manager”. In this article you will get to know the good sides and the bad sides of these products.

Project Management from  http://www.business-spreadsheets.com/

The main advantages are the low cost products; the separate solutions only cost $26. They offer Project Planning and Management, Real Option Valuation and Portfolio Performance Monitoring. They offer a lot more of these tools. The disadvantage is that you need to buy them separately. Another downside is that the spreadsheets and software are exclusively build for Microsoft Office Excel.

If you are on a windows environment this should not be a problem. The company offers a 30-day trial so you can test drive it. If you need specific solutions instead of large software packages, Project Management form business-spreadsheets is a good choice. You can find the 30 days trial of the software here!

Teamwork Planner 2 from http://devista.com/

What I noticed is that the website looks way more professional than the first one. It is a separate solution for teamwork management and time management. The Gantt chart generated by the software, can be exported to portable formats like Excel and PDF. Furthermore, you can copy Gant charts directly in just about any other document type. The software is explicitly compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7.

The own downside might be the price. Teamwork Planner 2 costs $149 at the time of writing. There is also a standard edition available that cost only $30. However, the standard edition lacks a lot of features. For small businesses or individuals, the standard edition is recommended. For that price you will  get a high quality, multi functional and robust tool. You can download a trial of the professional version here!

Project Budget Manager from http://www.projectbudgetmanager.com/

The “Project Budget Manager” solution is ideal for the small business. Businesses with budgets form $500 to $90.000 should consider purchasing this tool. It offers “Budget Tracking”, “Project Income Tracking” and advanced reports at an aggregated level. The downside is that the software is licensed for one computer use only. To use on more computers you should call or email them with for a quota. You can find a trial here!
